Lythrurus ardens
[edit]- ... that Lythrurus ardens spread to the York River after failed attempts to use them as bait?

ALT 1: ... that baby Lythrurus ardens grow to three-fifths of their adult size within a year?
- Sorry, please can you quote for me from the source, I couldn't see it but it's probably me being blind as a bat. No close paraphrasing (some unaviodable occurances of similar wording), QPQ done, article is new enough, long enough, and neutral. Thanks, Matty.007 08:50, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
I've added a new DYK hook. This one is stated with certainty within the text. Spirit of Eagle (talk) 01:13, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
- ALT 2: ...that Lythrurus ardens and Longear sunfish lay their eggs in the same nest and work together to defend them from predators?
- I probably deserve a pretty massive trout about this, but the 3/5s information came from another species on the same page as the Lythrurus ardens. I've corrected everything and made a new hook. Spirit of Eagle (talk) 02:57, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- I wondered if I was going blind or if you were on the wrong page... With the current hook, the source says
spawning occurred in association with the longear sunfish, and the nest was guarded by both species
, not that they lay their eggs in the same nest necessarily. A hook based on that fact would likely work though. Thanks, Matty.007 08:21, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

- I've corrected the hook to remove references to the two species of fish sharing the nest. Spirit of Eagle (talk) 23:46, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
