5x expanded by Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk). Self-nominated at 22:31, 30 December 2016 (UTC).

  • Article before expansion was about 200 bytes, afterwards 2475, satisfying expansion criteria for size. Article nominated one day after expansion started. QPQ complete. Image is a public domain work, as it was generated by NASA, but it needs a better caption than "CAPTION TEXT GOES HERE". The sentence fragment "...suffered a large eruption..." is odd; why not just "erupted"? Likewise, "...amounts to..." -> "...was...". The fragment "caldera-forming eruption erupted" should be tweaked, perhaps replacing "erupted" with "ejected". The article uses two different ERA formats (BC, BCE) - please use one consistently throughout the article. The error of margin for the date of eruption in the text is different from that in the infobox (and sources seem to vary too; perhaps this can be mentioned in the text). I am assuming good faith for text sourced to references 2-6, 8, and 9, as I can't access the full articles and the abstracts don't contain any of the sourced info. I've merged two identical refs. The author name for sources 6 and 7 is probably the same, but spelled differently (Razzhigaeva or Razjigaeva); could you check this? It would be helpful to have page numbers for citations. The partial statement "claimed by both Japan and Russia" isn't supported by the associated citation. Hooks are short enough and verified from their respective sources. Once the few minor concerns are fixed, this can be promoted. Mindmatrix 20:17, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
Mindmatrix Fixed caption. Changed text to "a large eruption occurred", "erupted" is difficult to combine with "large". Aabout "amounts to", I am bit wary of using past tense as it sounds like it was measured at the time. Fixed the other issues. I don't think the difference in error margin is something that can be meaningfully discussed, however. No idea what is going on with the names Razzhigaeva vs. Razjigaeva, they seem to be the same person but I don't know which one is correct. Page number citations require a bit more work.
