Lulu Wang

[edit]

Lulu Wang

  • ... that Lulu Wang (pictured) was almost the only Chinese writer that the average Dutch reader could name?

Created by Drmies (talk), Rosiestep (talk). Nominated by Rosiestep (talk) at 15:39, 31 January 2015 (UTC).

Interesting woman, good sources. I would be more interested in "best-selling Dutch-language author", can you word that please? Attractive free image, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 00:01, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
Keep for Women's month? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:41, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
@Drmies: glad to help. @Gerda Arendt: yes, for Women's History Month, and here's
ALT1: ... that Lulu Wang (pictured) is a best-selling Dutch-language author? --Rosiestep (talk) 19:16, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
ALT1 preferred. I could imagine this as a good lead DYK on the day, - international culture fusion on top of attractive ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:36, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
  • Sorry, @Gerda Arendt: I don't see the hookiness in ALT1. ALT0 is much more click-worthy. Yoninah (talk) 17:48, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
  • I left that to the prep builder who may be you. "Worthy" is an strange category, - I had to read the original hook twice to understand what it says. This article will be clicked by image, it doesn't matter too much if the hook addresses the simple minds (like me) or the intellectuals, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:56, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
ps: please, if the original hook is taken, get rid of "at one time" which gives it a bad start, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:59, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
  • ALT2: ... that for a while, Lulu Wang (pictured) was almost the only Chinese writer that the average Dutch reader could name?
This avoids the wording that Gerda dislikes, replaced by the exact wording of the quote in the article. Schwede66 17:27, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
Do you think I like "for a while" better? Sorry, no, and certainly not at the beginning. Nor "almost". What do you think of inserting Chinese in ALT1 which still seems more to the point and quirky enough to me:
ALT3: ... that the Chinese writer Lulu Wang (pictured) is a best-selling Dutch-language author? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:32, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
Ive boldly removed "at one time" and restated the approval that has got lost. Suggest we leave to the promoter to choose. Victuallers (talk) 12:00, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
