Lucavsala

[edit]
  • ... that Lucavsala was created in the 18th century by merging a lot of small islands?
  • ALT1: ... that the name of Lucavsala comes from a nobleman named Klauss Lucavs who lived on it?

Created/expanded by Srolanh (talk). Self nominated at 16:22, 27 November 2013 (UTC).

  • The article was created on Nov 26, not Nov 28. There does not seem to have been a 5-fold expansion since Nov 28.VR talk 05:28, 4 December 2013 (UTC)
The article was actually created on November 24, not the 29th that the nomination is currently filed under. But in any case, it was nominated within five days and that is not a problem. However, the article is not long enough, with the prose portion only being 1,363 bytes. More importantly, since the nomination, other editors have placed five different maintenance flags on the article. In particular, the sourcing for the article isn't always clear, one statement has been challenged, and one source is relied upon too heavily. The article is written in substandard English, probably by someone for whom English is not a native language. The sentences don't flow, grammar is incorrect in places, and there are misspellings and overly informal usages. So for all these reasons, as it stands the article cannot go up on the main page as part of DYK. Wasted Time R (talk) 04:18, 7 December 2013 (UTC)
This article has been tagged by an admin since December 4 for multiple issues. The editor has surely been aware of the tagging, since they have made a few minor edits since then. However, this editor is also new to Wikipedia on Nov 23, 2013, created the article on Nov 24, and the issues tagged have not been corrected. This article doesn't look like it will be ready for prime time on the main page anytime soon.— Maile (talk) 20:05, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
