La balsa
[edit]- ... that the release of Los Gatos' debut single "La balsa" on July 3, 1967, is widely considered to be the origin of Argentine rock? Source: El país, Los Andes, Publimetro, Efe Eme (in Spanish)
Created by Bleff (talk). Self-nominated at 00:47, 1 June 2017 (UTC).
- Hook verified, I read the El Pais source (in Spanish). The article easily meets length requirements and a spotcheck of a couple of sources checks out. The article was created on May 24. Taking the copyvio check on good faith, I don't know how to check for copyvio's when the sources are in Spanish but the article is in English. Earwig's tool does redflag the Spanish version of the article [1]; however, looking at the red flags they are where both the Spanish version of the article, and the sources quote either the lyrics directly, or an attributed quote from the artists directly, so I think we're good.
- I do have one recommendation: remove "and, sometimes, even of rock en español in general" from the hook. IMO, it doesn't add to the hook. In addition, while the pagina12 source does support that last clause, the context isn't direct. It's an interview with a band that includes the singer's son. So I'll leave the check with a question mark for now, pending a discussion. Dave (talk) 17:13, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
- From user's talk page it appears they need to list an article they have reviewed, as I see multiple DYK submissions on the talk page. Dave (talk) 17:21, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
- In point of fact, the user does not need to supply a QPQ, as they have only made one previous successful DYK submission. However, it has been over two weeks since this review; Bleff, a response is needed here. Thank you. BlueMoonset (talk) 23:45, 2 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Bleff and Moabdave: Coming to promote this, I cannot find the hook fact cited inline in the article although it is mentioned in the lead. This needs to be addressed. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:19, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
- I was going off the first two sentences of the L2 section titled Legacy. Dave (talk) 05:42, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
- The hook says the song was released on June 19, 1967. The article lead and cited sentence under Release and Reception says it was released on July 3, 1967. Also, why is the "b" in La Balsa lowercase? Yoninah (talk) 19:07, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
