Kessler R. Cannon
- ... that former Oregon state representative Kessler R. Cannon interviewed
numerous OregoniansOregon pioneers for his 15 Minute Histories radio program which was broadcast on KBND in the mid-1950s?
- Source: Audio recordings of Cannon’s interviews for his 15 Minute Histories radio program are available from the Deschutes County Library in Bend, Oregon; a library card number may be required to access the library’s recording files.

- @Orygun: New enough and long enough. QPQ present. No textual issues. However, there is no line or citation in the article that says he interviewed "thousands" of people, so we do need a different hook than the one proposed. I'd also like to suggest that you go through and clip the newspapers.com citations for accessibility purposes. If you wish, I can assist in this task. Raymie (t • c) 01:50, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Raymie: Don’t understand above note ... neither the hook nor the article say he interviewed "thousands" of people. Hook says "numerous Oregonians", and Deschutes library source highlighted above lists 43 interview recording so I thought saying "numerous" was appropriate. Article itself mentions 15 Minute Histories in two places (once in middle of article plus very last sentence); neither claims "thousands" of interviews. I think above hook could perhaps work if text was changed from "numerous Oregonians" to "Oregon pioneers" (which are words used in article) ... your call of course. In any case, I've also provided ALT hook for your consideration.
- ALT1: ... that after serving in the Oregon House of Representatives, Kessler R. Cannon became an assistant to Governor Tom McCall?
- Source: This hook can be verified by combination of two sources; both can be viewed on-line without a subscription. First, Oregon State Archives, Oregon Legislators and Staff Guide show Cannon was a members of Oregon House of Representatives in 1961. There is a similar document that shows that he also served in the 1963 session. An Oregon Historical Society library source say: “… Cannon was an Oregon politician who served as assistant to Governor Tom McCall …"
- I misread on the "thousands" mark, and I apologize, Orygun. I'm gonna suggest a minor style tweak to ALT0, which is much more interesting than ALT1:
- ALT0a: ... that former Oregon state representative Kessler R. Cannon interviewed Oregon pioneers for his 15 Minute Histories radio program, broadcast on KBND in the mid-1950s?
- As to the clipping thing... Here's a little guide on how to clip articles:
- Select "Clip" in the upper right corner.
- Drag the bounding box around the thing you want to clip.
- Title the clipping and hit "Save".
- Then use the clipping link, e.g. https://www.newspapers.com/clip/53513198/, and use it instead of the "newspapers.com/image/" link to the page. This way, viewers can access the content without needing to be subscribers to newspapers.com
