Kenneth Powell (sprinter)
- ... that Anglo-Indian sprinter Kenneth Powell was the first sportsperson from Karnataka to win the Arjuna Award? Source: https://bangaloremirror.indiatimes.com/bangalore/others/anglos-a-part-and-yet-apart/articleshow/21817310.cms

- Hi Ktin, review follows: article more than 5x expanded from 11 December; article is well written and cited inline throughout; I didn't pick up any overly close paraphrasing from the sources; hook fact is interesting enough for me. However the source cited is a book published by AuthorHouse, which is a self-publishing outfit. Does the author meet the requirements of WP:SPS? The book by Baskaran (Notion Press) is also self-published - Dumelow (talk) 12:03, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- thanks Dumelow. I have been busy the last few days IRL. I will find some time this week to get this addressed if that is alright. Ktin (talk) 03:01, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Ktin, no worries. GIve me a ping when you are ready - Dumelow (talk) 06:45, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Dumelow: Pardon the time that I took on this one and also, happy new year to you! I had a chance to look at this one -- the hook can be validated by the Indiatimes.com link. The two SPS links are additive and adds some additional information that seems to pass what is mentioned at WP:SPS. Seems alright to me. But, if you'd prefer I can remove them. I will also work on a QPQ here shortly. Thanks again. Ktin (talk) 02:55, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Ktin, no propblem. Can you identify which parts of WP:SPS they comply with (usually the authors will have to have been published before by reputable publishers). otheriwse happy if you just want to remove the snippets cited to these - Dumelow (talk) 09:08, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
- QPQ completed. I will look at the above comment next. Ktin (talk) 01:49, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Dumelow: Agree with your parenthesis text. Bridgette-White Kumar seems to be an authority on Anglo-Indian community, and specifically cuisines. Found an article in SilverTalkies here [1]. Regarding Hari Bhaskaran, he too has been considered a topic expert on Anglo Indians. This The Indian Express review of the book has some additional information. [2]. Also, this The Hindu review of the book. [3] With these two I think we should be good. Let me know of your thoughts. Ktin (talk) 01:56, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
