Firstly excellent work with the expansion! Here are some points to note:

While most aspects look fine, I don't fine an inline citation for "first ever to enter the Berlinale". Please address this.
QPQ is required
The second half of the hook can be accepted under good faith.

1. New citation no. 28, from the Berlinale's website, addresses that ("first ever GDR film".)

2. QPQ checked here. As you can see from that user page's history (versions 13:12 and 13:16 from 19.9.12, at the top) the prose part was expanded from 1,221 bytes to 12,427, by more than tenfold.

3.Addressed as well, fact cited in the New York Times and Guardian obituaries of the director, which were added as references. Bahavd Gita (talk) 09:31, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

Quick comment - Not a review: What the reviewer meant by QPQ is not the "5x" expansion, but rather the Quid pro quo rule (Rule #6 in DYK eligibility), in short that you have to review someone else's nomination. Nevertheless, checking the history of Bahavd Gita (talk · contribs) reveals he's still new at DYK (with less than 5 DYK credits), which means he's exempt from this requirement. Comment: I am confused by the English title for a German-language film. A German film nominated for foreign language in Berlin sounds quirky. Or do I miss something? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:12, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

I use the English name in the title, rather than Jakob der Lügner. And it was the first picture from the GDR to enter the (West) Berlin Festival, as well as the only to be nominated for an Oscar in the U.S. Bahavd Gita (talk) 16:48, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

Expansion 5x OK (28 August 2012 version by Cydebot 464 chars, 4 October 2012 version by nominator 11490 chars), hence long enough, limited online citations but deemed to comply (partly based on WP:AGF with respect to Template:Did you know nominations/Hands Up, Or I'll Shoot), hook is correctly sourced,[1][2][3], no obvious NPOV issues. I'll return for a close paraphrasing check when I can. I noted that the plot is unsourced. Also, maybe a year should be included in an alternative hook.
