Isaac Maliyamungu
[edit]- ... that a former mayor was "cut into pieces in [a] market in full public view" by Isaac Maliyamungu in 1972? Source: "There were many others reportedly killed during this period, among them: [...] and Francis Walugembe, the former Mayor of Masaka. Several prominent Ugandans living in exile write that several hours after his arrest 'Walugembe was cut into pieces in the market in full public view by Lt.-Col. Maliyamungu. This murder, which was one of the most brutal, was witnessed by people we know'" (From Racism to Genocide: Extracts from Report of the International Commission of Jurists (JSTOR 2934888), p. 18)

- Comment Are you sure he is dead? That hook won't do if he's alive. Johnbod (talk) 22:54, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Johnbod: Ah, right. I forgot about that. No, I have not found a source which confirms whether he is alive or dead - I have thus added an alternate hook:
ALT1: ... that Ugandan military commander Isaac Maliyamungu reportedly wept after witnessing how much destruction the army of his own country had caused in Tanzania? (source: Mystery of mass murder and rape in the Kagera Salient) Applodion (talk) 23:17, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Johnbod: Ah, right. I forgot about that. No, I have not found a source which confirms whether he is alive or dead - I have thus added an alternate hook:
- Death confirmed He died in the Sudan in 1984—reportedly from poisoning. See this source. -Indy beetle (talk) 05:50, 30 December 2018 (UTC)

- New enough, long enough, hooks are ok. I prefer the original over ALT1. QPQ done. No copyvio detected and images properly licensed. However, I am concerned that I initially mistook the image of Milton Obote for the subject of the article. The caption is quite misleading, all it really needs to say is "Milton Obote", or "Milton Obote in 1960". The connection of Obote with the subject can be left to the article prose.
