Invercargill by-election, 1930
[edit]- ... that before James Hargest (pictured) was elected to the New Zealand Parliament, he had been beaten by father and son in 1925 and 1930, respectively?

- James Hargest has passed GA review a few days ago. Can I nominate this article for DYK and make this hook a double hook? --PFHLai (talk) 04:57, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
- If the rules allow that, please go ahead. By the way, I was helping with getting that article up to scratch (I concentrated on his political career) and that was the reason for me writing the by-election article. Schwede66 05:21, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
- I'm emboldening the link to James Hargest. This new candidate needs to be reviewed for DYK purposes. Thanks. --PFHLai (talk) 05:56, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Hargest's newly passed GA has no copyright violations detected. Duplication detector check of main online sources [1][2][3] reveal no close paraphrasing issues (I've exempted key phrases that cannot be change without altering the meaning). Refs 7, 8 and 9 (supporting hook) are reliable sources. Image is free and in public domain. Additional QPQ not necessary as it was nominated by someone else. Looks good to go! —Bloom6132 (talk) 02:08, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
Just a query and sorry, I should have asked this earlier. I don't know the rules around GA at DYK. I see that I've got a DYKmake credit for the James Hargest article. What I'm wondering, though, is whether User:Zawed, who has done the bulk of the work towards GA should have a DYKmake credit, too. Schwede66 04:20, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
