Hussein bin Abdullah, Crown Prince of Jordan

[edit]

Hussein in May 2013

  • As for now, I only looked at the hook. The hook is linked to two sentences in the article. The first part (Hussein being regent several times) is only back up by a source provided by the Jordanian Government itself. The source should ideally be more independent from the subject. The second part of the phrase in the article: 'having been sworn in on 21 April 2012. The ceremony was attended by members of the Cabinet and by his uncle, Prince Feisal. The Crown Prince then met with Prime Minister Awn Khasawneh, accompanied by his uncle', is not backed up by the source provided. Better examples of sources can be found here [1] and here [2] Crispulop (talk) 10:18, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
  • Thank you for commenting! I do not understand your concern about using the official website as source. Even if the source did qualify as self-published, there is still no reason to question its accuracy. Official government websites are routinely used as sources and are normally considered very authoritative. The source covering the second part had a wrong name and therefore did not show up properly; I've corrected the name and the source that now shows up is the right one. The articles you suggested and the article used as source are virtually identical. Surtsicna (talk) 14:54, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

Hussein will be 19 in 25 days. The hook should be featured earlier (if passed) because it won't make much sense when he is 19. (He served as regent as an 18-year-old, not as a 19-year-old.) Surtsicna (talk) 12:18, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

  • Good that you fixed that second source (although you still need to change the publisher of the source from the Embassy to The Jordanian Times). I am willing to agree with you that the source provided (Jordanian govt.) is reliable enough to state these claims. I continued the assessment: Article is new and long enough. It cites its sources, is neutral and free of copyvio. Hook is short enough, interesting and properly cited. QPQ confirmed. Image is in public domain. This DYK nomination is good to go. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Crispulop (talkcontribs) 14:58, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
