- Article is appropriately new (counting from the move-to-mainspace date) and quite a good length. The sourcing is reliable and thorough. I took the liberty of adding a newspapers.com clipping to ref 3, which was cited offline-only previously, and tweaking the name for ref 5. I also put ref 3 at the end all of the quotes in the paragraph starting at "On 15 February 1898...", per policy. Earwig percentage is mostly from proper nouns and common phrases like "the first African American woman," so that's fine. Neutrality looks fine to me.I have a few relatively low-key quality-control issues for the article before being confident in promoting it. First, I think the lead could be expanded somewhat to summarize more of the article content. Second, the two paragraphs dealing with the rebuke of Anthony are chronologically out of order. They're placed under "Early life," but it's part of her activism and feels misplaced there. I'm not sure where to put it - maybe in its own section under "Leadership and activism"? The references for the hooks are reliable. Of the two, I have a strong preference for ALT1. Publicly admonishing a major suffragette must have taken a lot of courage, and I think more people are likely to click through on that than on a historical womens' club. That being said, I think ALT1 could use a touch more detail as to why Cook rebuked Anthony. Maybe include a bit like, "for failing to support universal suffrage" or something? This is Nicolet1327's first DYK so no QPQ is required. All in all pretty close to a yes, with some minor quibbling. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 22:48, 6 August 2019 (UTC)
Hi Premeditated Chaos thank you for reviewing this DYK nomination. I appreciate your time. I've expanded the lead, moved the SB Anthony reference to the activism section and created a Alt 2 teaser with your suggested copy. I can't help but think how formidable Mrs. Cook must have been! Hope these edits capture your request. Nicolet1327 (talk)
- Hi, sorry about the delay in response. ALT2 is perfect. The whole article is beautiful work, formidable really is the word for her. I hope you consider taking the article to Good Article status, because I certainly think you could. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 14:28, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
