Harry Bigelow

  • ... that American law professor Harry Bigelow became one of the first men to cross the Belgian Congo west of Lake Edward? "was one of the first to cross the unexplored Belgian Congo west of Lake Edward" from Shavit, David (1989). The United States in Africa – A Historical Dictionary. Westport, Connecticut: Greenwood Press. p. 22. ISBN 0-313-25887-2.

  • } on ALT1. Article is new enough, long enough, policy compliant, and not a COPYVIO. Hooks are cited inline to reliable sources. I have an issue with ALT0 though. The hook states that he was one of the first men to cross the Belgian Congo west of Lake Edward, but the article specifies white men, which is almost certainly more accurate, the area doesn't seem to be a desolate waste avoided forever by all natives. No issues with ALT1 though. Gonna go ahead and be bold and strike out ALT0, although if you prefer it to the other hook, I can review a rephrased version. QPQ done.
