HMS Magnanime (1744)

[edit]
  • ... that when she was nine years old Magnanime, returned to the place of her birth to launch an attack upon it?
  • Alt 1 ... that just prior to entering the hazardous waters of Quiberon Bay; HMS Magnanime was sent off in pursuit of an enemy ship, thus depriving the British Fleet of their only competent pilot?

  • Article is new (moved into mainspace) and long enough, has enough prose, is neutral and cites sources. It is not a BLP, and is interesting. I cannot check sources so will take them on good faith.Martin451 (talk) 01:22, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
  • it would be nice if the phrases "line abreast" and "in the van" were wikilinked, but this is not crucial.Martin451 (talk) 01:43, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
  • the main hook and alt 1 are referenced, but I cannot check the references, so will take them on good faith. They are both short enough and interesting, but not correctly formatted. I prefer the main hook. Alt 2 is uninteresting compared with the others.Martin451 (talk) 01:43, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the review. Can you expand on "..not correctly formatted"? Do you mean it should be more like:

  • ... that Magnanime was nine years old when she returned to the place of her birth to launch an attack upon it?
  • Alt 1 ... that HMS Magnanime was sent off in pursuit of an enemy ship, thus depriving the British Fleet of their only competent pilot as it was about to enter the hazardous waters of Quiberon Bay? -Ykraps (talk) 07:12, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
  • Mandarax has corrected the issues I saw in the original hooks. I did not want to do them myself as I am not good at formatting. Good to go with main hook or ALT 1.Martin451 (talk) 18:32, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
