Grand Central Palace

[edit]
  • ... that the Grand Central Palace, a former exhibition center in New York City, was once used as a hospital and a U.S. Army induction center? Sources: (1) NY Times 1919 (for hospital), (2) NY TImes 1945 (for induction center)
    • ALT1:... that the Grand Central Palace, a former exhibition center in New York City, was also used as a train station during the construction of Grand Central Terminal in the 1900s? Source: NY Times 1906

5x expanded by Epicgenius (talk). Self-nominated at 21:03, 28 December 2018 (UTC).

  • Expanded enough; highly informative article. Well done. Image seems fine. Did not find plagiarism problems. Hook is sources; I think the first one is the best. On my wish list: fewer all-caps titles from the NYT, and more pictures of the building (both versions). Drmies (talk) 04:37, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
  • @Drmies: Thanks for the review, and for fixing the all-caps titles. This nomination still needs a QPQ credit, which I will provide within the next day or so. There doesn't seem to be that many images of the buildings on Commons, though I will try to look for more. epicgenius (talk) 05:15, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
  • Right--the review. Thanks, and thanks for writing up so much quality content over the years. Drmies (talk) 05:16, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
  • @Drmies: Likewise, I appreciate what you've been doing. In any case, I've provided the QPQ credit now, so I guess this nomination can be verified now. epicgenius (talk) 17:05, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
  • Epicgenius, thanks for taking care of that. I assume that, since I ticked this as "good to go" already, that things will take their course automatically. One day, before we die, let's meet up in New York City. I'll buy coffee, you show me around. Drmies (talk) 17:08, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
  • @Drmies: Yeah, I assume it's already been approved. Re the meetup: that sounds like a great idea, someday. I promise we New Yorkers don't bite epicgenius (talk) 17:12, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
