- Interesting article, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. I think we should mention in the hook that he is part of a legend, also a ling for the empire, please. I also think that in the lead, the details of the legend are too prominent, but up to you. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:20, 26 July 2019 (UTC)

...that the legend of Gabriel Boughton claimed that he treated Shah Jahan's daughters burns and in return received free trade for the East India Company? - ALT2:
... that surgeon Gabriel Boughton travelled to India in the 17th century where he attended the court of the Mughal Empire and became the centre of a legend surrounding Shah Jahan's daughter? - @Gerda Arendt:...altered lead and hook...maybe @Philafrenzy: might have a better hook. - Thank you, good step, but I restored the original, simply to keep the chronology here. I struck ALT1 because that reads as if he wrote the legend, and ALT2 because it may lead to aspersions about a relationship with that young woman. Other wording? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:28, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
- ALT3: ... that according to legend, Gabriel Boughton treated Jahanara Begum's burns and in return received the right to free trade for the East India Company from her father Shah Jahan? Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 21:03, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you @Mary Mark Ockerbloom:...ALT3 sounds perfect. What is your view @Gerda Arendt:? Whispyhistory (talk) 21:35, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
