Douglas Bradburn
- ... that since 2018 Douglas Bradburn has been the President and CEO at George Washington's Mount Vernon, in Virginia?

- If I may be honest, the current hook is not really going to be appealing to a broad audience. It's also not really "hooky". It talks about him having a position, but it gives no context as to how a position in that institution is noteworthy to those in the know. Maybe a hook more about his work as a historian would be a better option here? Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 06:15, 19 June 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, I suppose you're right. I created the article because I was using one of his works as a reference in an article and figured I make the article. Admittedly, there's really not much 'wow' in his life, that I know of. Bradburn is a credentialed historian with a PhD in American history and has an extensive background in education and other academic pursuits, but nothing that seems 'hook worthy'. I'll see what else I can find out about him. Will get back to you soon. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 19:21, 21 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Gwillhickers: Are you still planning to propose a new hook for this? Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 01:36, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, I've been busy in other areas and have sort of put it off. If I don't come up with a good hook in a couple of days you can go ahead and remove the nomination from the list. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 17:33, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: As was said, Bradburn is an educator and a noted historian, so finding something that's going to knock the socks off a general audience is a bit difficult in this case. In any event, Mount Vernon has been the source of scholarship and the George Washington papers for years, and Bradburn has made these more available to educators and historians. Hope ALT1 will suffice for a hook.
- ALT1 — Under the direction of Douglas Bradburn, he has expanded Mount Vernon's programming to include thousands of researchers and educators of American history throughout the country.

- That doesn't really sound like a hook and vaguely sounds promotional. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 01:47, 2 July 2022 (UTC)
