Dan Botwe

[edit]
  • ... that after returning from exile in Ivory Coast, Dan Botwe now has an official mandate to divide regions in Ghana? [see this [1] and [this too [2]
  • ALT1... that Ghanaian computer scientist, Dan Botwe, once went into exile after he was tagged as a trouble maker by the military regime?
  • ALT2... that Dan Botwe once contested to be flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party because he felt the presidency of Ghana was not a "retirement" package for the aged?
  • ALT3... that Dan Botwe, a former political exile, has an aim to divide parts of Ghana.
  • ALT4... that Ghanaian computer scientist, Dan Botwe, has been described by the President of Ghana as "a heavy weight, hard hitter"?

  • I suggest an amalgamation — DaßWölf 23:26, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
  • ALT5... that Ghanaian computer scientist and former political exile, Dan Botwe, now has an official mandate to divide regions in his home country?
  • New enough, long enough, neutrally written, adequately referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. (There really was a lot of close paraphrasing in the article, but I edited it out.) QPQ done. Since this is a BLP, I struck ALT1. I do not see anything about dividing the country, as in ALT0, ALT3, and ALT5; perhaps this information was rewritten in the article. ALT2 is a little confusing for casual readers; why is the flag bearer position and the presidency conflated in the hook? ALT4 violates the close paraphrasing rule since it does not put the president's words in quotes.
  • I suggest something along these lines:
  • ALT6: ... that in 2017 Dan Botwe, a former political exile, became a cabinet member and minister in Ghana's newly created Ministry of Regional Reorganization and Development? Yoninah (talk) 23:05, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
  • Worked on ALT4. The article says that Akufo-Addo created the ministry to oversee the division of several regions in the country in fulfillment of one of his political promises hence ALT3, his mandate for the ministry is to divide those regions in Ghana. Please go through once more. Thanks. CrossTemple Jay 09:46, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
  • @Crosstemplejay: Re ALT4: this is not what the source says. Moreover, why are you identifying him as a computer scientist when he's a politician and cabinet minister? Re ALT3: the article (and source) call these "regions", not parts. And it's only two regions. It sounds like they're being redrawn, which is how I edited it in the article. If you could say this in a hookier way, it might work. Yoninah (talk) 20:41, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: Thanks for the review. I believe that the Alt6 you proposed it good. I have struck out the other ones. CrossTemple Jay 15:43, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
  • OK. Calling on new reviewer to approve ALT6. Yoninah (talk) 17:00, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
  • ALT6 reads well and is cited. Good to go! --Usernameunique (talk) 23:03, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
