Heladería Coromoto
[edit]- ... that you can buy British Airways at an ice cream store in Merida, Venezuela?
Created by Bonkers The Clown (talk). Self nominated at 06:20, 24 June 2013 (UTC).
- Comment: I am glad to see improvement relative to earlier noms in the use of a reliable source (BBC). I will leave a full review to others, but note that the hook is cited to a reliable source. However ... The article is incorrectly named: Coromoto is a common term in Venezuela (example, Our Lady of Coromoto) and it is doubtful that Coromoto should not direct to the better known uses, or at least to a dab page. This article should be Heladería Coromoto. Also, Lonely Planet (a tour guide) isn't a particularly high quality source (I've encountered errors there about Venezuela): this text:
should at minimum be attributed ("Lonely Planet Venezuela calls Coromoto "the most famous ice cream parlor in South America"). Opinions should be attributed. A copyedit for basic English grammar is needed. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:12, 24 June 2013 (UTC)Coromoto is now cited as "the most famous icecream parlor in South America"[3]
- Sorry, don't speak Venezuelan, had no idea what "Coromoto" meant. I shall move the page accordingly. Lonely Planet writes "icecream" not "ice cream". Perhaps I should include a "[sic]". Alright, shall make the changes requested. ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 14:44, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- What, my basic grammar can't be that horrible, right? ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 14:48, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for renaming the article: I've set up the missing dab page and the redirect for diacritics. A couple of things: American (not British) English is used in Venezuela. I can find no indication the store is a chain, so I removed that. We don't use words like "current" or "now" on Wikipedia (see MOS on Precise language [1]), I've attributed the opinions, and I've done a basic copy edit for grammar and to remove numerous redundancies (for example, things like "a total of" are almost always redundant, there are others). [2] If you ever need help on Venezuela topics, please do not hesitate to ping me (although I'm often too busy to weigh in adequately). I do not know if this article meets expansion criteria, but we should avoid saying the same things three or four times. Regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 15:58, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you... It's still within the 5 day creation deadline, so it will pass... 1506 characters, nice enough. Okay, I'm sorry for those redundancies... ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 01:37, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

- Article's too short. It's so barely over the word count that it's really just a wikicup nom to try and get as many points as possible without regard to article quality. Wizardman 21:27, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
- What? Too short? I've already tried to make it as long as possible, and as you can see, it's above the criteria of 1500 chars. ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 03:22, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
