Climate change in Brazil
- ... that climate change in Brazil (pictured) can be fixed? (this would have the fire pic) Source: "You are strongly encouraged to quote the source text supporting each hook" (and [link] the source, or cite it briefly without using citation templates)
- ALT1:... that there are other causes of climate change in Brazil (pictured)? (this would have the cow pic) Source: "You are strongly encouraged to quote the source text supporting each hook" (and [link] the source, or cite it briefly without using citation templates)
- ALT2:... that Jair Bolsonaro says that foreigners should stop beefing about climate change in Brazil (pictured)? (cow pic obviously)Source: "Bolsonaro ....... reacted with fury to the world’s condemnation of his handling of the fires and initially slapped down many of its offers of help." [1] "the president has used international criticism to mobilise supporters, projecting himself as a patriot defending Brazil against neocolonialist foreigners who seek to undermine Brazilian sovereignty in the Amazon." [2] 'Bolsonaro accused foreigners of a “brutal disinformation campaign”' [3]
- ALT3:... that fire is both a cause and a risk of climate change in Brazil (pictured)? (fire pic obviously) Source: "You are strongly encouraged to quote the source text supporting each hook" (and [link] the source, or cite it briefly without using citation templates)
- ALT4:... that as well as deforestation of the Amazon rainforest there are other causes of climate change in Brazil (pictured)? Source: "new farmers are moving in [to the Pantanal], often with little understanding of how to use fire properly" " local farmers ... increase the size of their herds" [4]

- Comment: A major author of the Portuguese article from which part of this was translated was https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usu%C3%A1rio(a):Tetraktys Although I mentioned the above reviewed article for another DYK in fact that did not need a QPQ as I had miscounted. Image and cites to be added according to which hook(s) the reviewer likes.

- @Chidgk1: This interesting article is new enough and long enough. The images are suitably licensed, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. Some of the hooks have inline citations, but others do not. For example, the "beefing" comment, which would make a good hook, is not even mentioned in the article. You will need to deal with the tags that are present in the article, and I agree with the tagger, that there appear to be excess citations in some places. A QPQ has been done. - @Cwmhiraeth: I tagged the excess cites myself because I don't have Portuguese so cannot fix. I thought if we leave the tags in for DYK someone might see them and fix them (although it seems they don't show up on mobile anyway), but if you prefer I can move the text with the problem to the talk page.
- @Chidgk1: According to DYK rules, the tags need to be removed before this DYK can go ahead. As you put them there, you can remove them, and discuss the sourcing on the talk page if you wish. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:51, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Cwmhiraeth: Done and added the president's views to the politics section for ALT2, but if you prefer a different ALT let me know and I will cite it. Chidgk1 (talk) 13:53, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

- Thank you. Approving ALT2 and ALT4. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 20:04, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
