CMLL Torneo Nacional de Parejas Increibles (2016)

[edit]

Created by MPJ-DK (talk). Self-nominated at 05:13, 31 March 2016 (UTC).

  • (Drive-by comment, not a review) The wrestling event is now over. The article got updated. Perhaps an updated hook should be in order. --PFHLai (talk) 14:09, 7 May 2016 (UTC)
  • Good catch, I had forgotten this was still in the que, changed it to past tense. Good catch.  MPJ-US  14:26, 7 May 2016 (UTC)
  • checkY New enough (nominated on day created), long enough (6,000 characters when nominated, now longer), and within policy.
  • checkY Hook is short enough & interested, I'm assuming good faith on the sources since they're in Spanish (but look like they do verify the hook).
  • checkY QPQ done.
  • Overall it passes, congratulations. Joseph2302 (talk) 16:13, 8 May 2016 (UTC)
  • I'm sorry, but where in the article text does it clearly say that they are currently rivals? For that matter, where does it say that they were friends? They were Los Ingobernables teammates, something that would seem to have ended earlier this year, but the two words are far from equivalent. Even if the hook were supported by the text, there's something not quite right grammatically, so it will need to be revised. Perhaps it could be something along the lines of Rush kicking Marco off the LI team only to be teamed up with him in the tournament X weeks later. One other thing that should be done to the article before it is approved is to put all of the future tense material about the 2016 tournament (even in History and Tournament background) into the past tense: the tournament has already occurred. It isn't enough to have done so to the hook. Thanks! BlueMoonset (talk) 22:41, 8 May 2016 (UTC)
  • In the history section, it says "In the 2012 Torneo Pareja Increibles tournament, long time rivals Rush (técnico) and El Terrible (rudo) were teamed up for the tournament and ended up facing each other in the main event of the CMLL 79th Anniversary Show. Former friends, turned rivals La Sombra (técnico) and Volador Jr. (rudo) teamed up for the 2013 Torneo Nacional de Parejas Increibles and actually won the tournament." This asserts both claims, with reliable sources- if either [1] or the Yahoo source worked. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:56, 8 May 2016 (UTC)
  • @BlueMoonset: - I could probably go back and find a source on them being friends with their long history of teaming up, but I will take your suggestion and take the friendship out of it. How about the hook below, already cited that he was kicked out Feb 19 and they teamed up for the tournament less than a month later.
  • Joseph2302, the hook claims that Rush and Marco Corleone are friends. The 2012 tournament material talks about Rush and El Terrible, not Rush and Marco. The 2013 talks about La Sombra and Volador Jr., again not Rush and Marco. How on earth do either of these assert a claim of friendship between Rush and Marco?
MPJ-DK, ALT1 doesn't quite work: February 19 (date of being kicked out) to April 15 (date of start of Torneo Nacional de Parejas Increibles) is not less than a month. Hooks also need to have a space and a "that" at the beginning after the initial ellipsis. I also think you left a word out before "the 2016". I'm also wondering about the "were forced to" wording; I don't see any wording in the article that asserts they were forced to team up, just that CMLL paired them up. I imagine they were happy to get the paycheck, even if they lost in the quarterfinals. Here's a suggested new version:
  • I am good with Alt2 any yes I did forget. In storyline terms they were "forced",in real life it is just another day at the office.  MPJ-US  01:37, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
  • The connection of these two events in the hook (ALT2) is never explicitly stated and cited in the article. Furthermore, should the title of this article be CMLL Torneo Nacional de Parejas Increíbles (2016) (note accent)? Intelligentsium 22:47, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
  • @Intelligentsium: - You have a point on the name, moved article, updated the article and updated the Alt. Nt sure what you mean about not being explicitly stated and sources? Corleone was kicked out of Los Ingobernables on a specific date - Mentioned and cited. CMLL teamed them up for this tournament and wrestled together on another date - mentioned and cited. So the only thing not sourced in the article is the fact that February 19 and April 15 are less than two months apart as far as I can tell? I am sure you're not asking for that fact to be sourced right? Other than the name I am drawing a blank on what this issue is? MPJ-US  23:12, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
    • Oh no, I saw both facts were in the article - however, to be connected in the hook, they also have to be connected (i.e., mentioned together) in the article. In fact I no longer remember why I didn't just fix it myself, done now.
    • Hook, length, and date verified for ALT2. This article is good to go. Intelligentsium 23:26, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
