This doesn't strike me as a very interesting hook. Isn't there something more interesting to say about this building? Gatoclass (talk) 15:34, 17 February 2018 (UTC)
- How about these?

that a street was removed for the construction of South Dakota's Brown County Courthouse?"...two half blocks having been secured and a street vacated for the site." https://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn83045366/1904-02-06/ed-1/seq-12/ - ALT2: ...
that the predecessor of South Dakota's Brown County Courthouse was demolished a year after it was replaced?

- I'm not too crazy about the ALTs either Chris, though admittedly I can't see an obvious hook for this article myself. I did consider perhaps going back to the original hook on the basis that maybe Berea sandstone was unusual in some way, but it turns out the link is to a geographical formation in West Virginia. I guess we will have to go with one of the ALTs then. Gatoclass (talk) 10:26, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Gatoclass: While working on this article, I also started on a draft to expand Berea Sandstone (it covers at least four states, not just WV, so the stub is not very good) but it's been slow going there. Chris857 (talk) 14:52, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
- Chris, are you likely to get your Berea sandstone article completed any time soon? If so, we could wait a few days for you to do so. Gatoclass (talk) 12:18, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Gatoclass: I will have a lot more free time starting tomorrow and may be able to get somewhere on the sandstone. Chris857 (talk) 17:32, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
- Compared to the ALTs, I personally find the initial first hook as the most interesting and intriguing. North America1000 06:56, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
- Once things have settled a little in the article, Berea Sandstone might itself be able to be bolded as being eligible for DYK - it has the length now - but I'll have to see that it has enough new content separate from other articles, and there's still a CN tag and a bunch more to add to fill it out further beyond a stub. - @Gatoclass: I'm now nominating Berea Sandstone for DYK, so for the courthouse article, the hook could now be:
- ALT3:... that the Brown County Courthouse in South Dakota is built of Berea Sandstone from Ohio?
- I think I've added the necessary pieces to this nomination for the second article. I now owe this nomination a 2nd QPQ. Chris857 (talk) 05:12, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
