Bolotnaya Square
[edit]- ... that Bolotnaya Square, one of the sites for the recent large-scale protests in Moscow (pictured), used to be a venue for public executions?

- on age, size and hook referencing, though Google Translate translates the name of the square as "Swamp Area" in English.....Casliber (talk · contribs) 12:08, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, Площадь can be translated both as "area" and "square", and "square" is the appropriate translation. For the swamp, it is indeed the proper name of the area in Russian, and it is written about it in the history section (I actually used the word "bog" rather than "swamp", since it was an area which was regularly flooded, but feel free to change if appropriate. Thanks for the review.--Ymblanter (talk) 12:16, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
Note: 2011 Russian protests is currently on the main page in ITN, with this image. It would be best to hold this until the image and hook are no longer on the map page in ITN (and probably best not to use this image again so soon after it was on the main page). --Orlady (talk) 23:00, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
