Ashwathi Pillai

[edit]
  • ... that Ashwathi Pillai is the youngest person to win the Swedish Senior National Championship in 2018? Source: The News Minute
    • ALT1:...? Source: "You are strongly encouraged to quote the source text supporting each hook" (and [link] the source, or cite it briefly without using citation templates)

  • Seems long enough and new enough. I am wondering if using informal language such as "dad" is appropriate here. Infobox needs better sourcing and the name of her birth town is spelled differently in the source. Is this a reliable source? Birth date and birth polity and schools need sources, as does the "first Indian" claim. Where does it say that the family moved to Kerala? Bengaluru or the Swedish National Sports Federation aren't mentioned in the source, either. And I am not sure if the hours claims add up. The Achievements section needs sourcing as well. No POV or copyvio issues that I can see but the sourcing is just bad for a BLP. Hook is OK but it's sourced only here. No QPQ needed. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 13:35, 26 January 2019 (UTC)
Comment: https://www.buenosaires2018.com/ is a reliable source. It is the official website of 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. The nominator is exempt from QPQ (less than five DYKs, per WP:QPQ). Regards, KCVelaga (talk) 04:48, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
The sourcing needs still some work. I can't find "brother" and "class 4" for instance. Also the infobox should not say that she was born in Thucklay if she was not born there. Internationella Engelska Skolan and Swedish National Sports Federation are not mentioned anywhere. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 10:00, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
@Jo-Jo Eumerus: "brother" is mentioned in the Times Of India source and "class 4" and "IES" school are mentioned in Serachindie scurce. She was born in a village near Thucklay that is near Kanyakumari and I've added the correct source now. Swedish National Sports is mentioned in New Indian Express source. Ah, so. The claims need to be supported by the reference that comes after the claim, not by a reference elsewhere on the page. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 06:28, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, I somehow mixed them. Thank you. SuswethaK (talk) 08:26, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
The birthdate needs a reference still. JoJo Eumerus mobile (talk) 08:52, 28 January 2019 (UTC)

Sorry, but the brother still isn't mentioned in the source that supports that sentence. JoJo Eumerus mobile (talk) 10:36, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
@Jo-Jo Eumerus: I fixed it now. Please check. SuswethaK (talk) 12:46, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
Checked, only thing missing is the same fix for the claims in my 10:00, 27 January 2019 (UTC). JoJo Eumerus mobile (talk) 13:38, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
@Jo-Jo Eumerus: With regards to your comment at 10:00, 27 January 2019 (UTC), please find my responses below:
  • The sentence "She has one sibling, a brother", has a citation, ref no.5 i.e. this source. The source says "My father used to play with his friends, and my brother and I would wait till he was done." I think that justifies the sentence. However, I also have a slight thought that it may be original research, if you feel so, we can remove the sentence.
  • The sentence "She studied at the National Public School, Bangalore till class 4", has a citation, ref no. 3 i.e. this source. It clearly says "did her schooling till the 4th grade in National Public School, Bengaluru". It justifies that sentence.
  • I tweaked the Infobox field, it now says "village near Thuckalay"

I am positive that my responses address your concerns, please let us know if there is anything else. Please note that, I know the nominator in real life, and I'm helping them with during their initial days here. Thanks for the review, KCVelaga (talk) 14:04, 28 January 2019 (UTC)

OK, but where is "Internationella Engelska Skolan" and "Swedish National Sports Federation"? JoJo Eumerus mobile (talk) 15:19, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
@Jo-Jo Eumerus:"Internationella Engelska Skolan" is mentioned in ref no 5. "Swedish National Sports Federation" is mentioned in ref no 4(New Indian Express).SuswethaK (talk) 16:21, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
