Altered (drag racing)
[edit]- ... that NHRA Altereds were notorious for running sideways? Source: McClurg, Bob. Diggers, Funnies, Gassers and Altereds: Drag Racing's Golden Age (North Branch, MN: CarTech Inc, 2013), p.50.
- ALT1:... that NHRA Altereds were sometimes called "poor man's dragsters"? Source: McClurg, Bob. Diggers, Funnies, Gassers and Altereds: Drag Racing's Golden Age (North Branch, MN: CarTech Inc, 2013), p.44.

- @Trekphiler: There are several typos and unsourced statements in the article. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:06, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
@Narutolovehinata5: Typos don't surprise me; I can't proofread worth spit. Unsourced? Such as? TREKphiler any time you're ready, Uhura 19:04, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Trekphiler: Some of the cars in the "Named cars" section lack reference. As for typos, there are plenty of unpaired or mispaired "[[" characters. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:43, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
- Narutolovehinata5, there were a trio of edits to the article made by Trekphiler in August to address these issues. Have these done so? If so, then can this go forward? (If not, Trekphiler doesn't seem to be interested in pursuing the nomination any further). Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 01:19, 8 September 2018 (UTC)
- Most information appears to be sourced now, aside from the statement "While the emblematic altered is a short-wheelbase roadster with exposed engine and front frame rails, very similar to the earliest rail dragsters, altereds could be bodied cars, also". Other than that sentence, the only problem is that the typos (including stray "[[" characters and extra spaces) have not been fixed. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 09:22, 8 September 2018 (UTC)
- Narutolovehinata5, I've fixed the typos that I found, consolidated the references (and removed spaces before them), and taken care of a pair of stray closing brackets. However, the brackets with the quotes are correct (used when making an originally capitalized letter lowercase) per the manual of style, i.e., "[s]ometimes". As far as I can tell, the only true problem left is the statement you quoted above at the end of the second paragraph in the lead section, which is unsourced. Trekphiler, it is the definition of what Altered is; can you please add a source citation for that one sentence? That would be great. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 15:16, 8 September 2018 (UTC)
- Cite for that really is only a matter of looking at the pictures. Is that enough? TREKphiler any time you're ready, Uhura 20:24, 8 September 2018 (UTC)

- With my concerns addressed, this should be good to go then; offline sources accepted AGF. My only suggestion is that NHRA needs to be linked in the hook as I don't think the average reader would know what the NHRA is. That or perhaps a change to the hooks (either of which could be used) that makes it clear that what's being referred to here is a kind of drag racing car.
