[edit]... that Albert Wattenberg souveniered the Chianti bottle (picture) used celebrate Chicago Pile-1 going critical?
Created by Hawkeye7 (talk). Self-nominated at 22:07, 4 December 2015 (UTC).
- New and long enough, QPQ done, all non-lead paragraphs have inline citations, spot checks and Earwig copyvio results for copyvio reveals no problems (only minor phrase matches that are difficult to rewrite), content of the hook is backed with inline citations to reliable sources in the article, image is public domain. - ALT1 "... that Albert Wattenberg kept as a souvenir the Chianti bottle (pictured) used to celebrate Chicago Pile-1 going critical?" surely to God "souvenir" isn't a verb? Still less spelt "souvenier". Johnbod (talk) 17:44, 7 December 2015 (UTC)
- This is an article about an American physicist and the spellings (e.g., "organize") appear to American. So to introduce an obscure Australian verb form that is not used in American English seems inappropriate (and also confusing for those non-Aussies reading the hook). Further, the article itself spells it as "souvenir", again the American spelling, so let's go with that here. Beyond that, there's something grammatically wrong with both hooks; shouldn't there be a "to" before "celebrate"? I've struck the original hook, and made a couple of corrections to ALT1, including adding "to" and separating the final two wikilinks. I've also condensed the image caption a bit. - ALT2:
... that Albert Wattenberg kept an empty bottle of Chianti (pictured) as a souvenir, which was drank to celebrate the Chicago Pile-1 nuclear reactor going critical?- This sounds a little off to me. They didn't drink the empty bottle. Hawkeye7 (talk) 01:31, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Hawkeye7:: See new alt below. North America1000 08:05, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
- ALT3: ... that Albert Wattenberg kept an empty bottle of Chianti (pictured) as a souvenir, the contents of which was drank to celebrate the Chicago Pile-1 nuclear reactor going critical?
- Good to go for ALT3. Matters about use of the word "souvenir" appear to have been resolved, and content of ALT3 is backed by inline citations to reliable sources in the article. North America1000 08:38, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
