A Line Made by Walking
- ... that A Line Made by Walking is considered to be an important early work in the history of both land art and conceptual art? Source: The Pleasures of Good Photographs: Essays, (2010); BBC Arts, "I walk the line: How Richard Long turns epic journeys into art," 10 May 2018.
- ALT1:... that the sculpture, A Line Made by Walking, proposed the simple act of walking could be an artform? Source: "Richard Long: 'It was the swinging 60s. To be walking lines in fields was a bit different.'" The Guardian, 2012-06-15, interview by Charlotte Higgins

- Not yet long enough - needs some 200 chars. An important work. The image will not be useable - from Commons where it has a nonsense licence. It wouldn't have survived since 2013 except it was uncategorised. Johnbod (talk) 15:21, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
- Added content, should cover needed characters. Hyperbolick (talk) 15:21, 2 December 2019 (UTC)
- Nope - I make it 1489. This nom is beginning tio seem rather doom-laden. Johnbod (talk) 16:44, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- have a hunch we can find 11 more characters on historically important artwork. Hyperbolick (talk) 19:23, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Johnbod:, now? Hyperbolick (talk) 18:40, 5 December 2019 (UTC)

- NOW at Template:Did you know nominations/A Line Made by Walking FFS - please don't move things after starting the template, it breaks the review link!! Johnbod (talk) 16:44, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- GTG without photo. Expansion ok, long enough (just), neutral & well-written. Photo not for main page. Both hooks check out, Earwig finds nothing. Johnbod (talk) 18:58, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
- Could something like this be used? Key is that what is considered the "artwork" is the line itself, not the photo of it. Hyperbolick (talk) 19:13, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
- Hyperbolick, very unlikely. It doesn't matter that "the photo is not the work". (I'm actually not sure that that is quite right, see https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artworks/long-a-line-made-by-walking-p07149). The photo was taken by Long and has not been licensed in a way that allows it to be freely used. Vexations (talk) 19:52, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
- I have commented out the image from this nomination page to avoid confusion when this is promoted to prep. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:57, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
