The AthAbbr template is designed to allow easy abbr explanations with tooltip and links to be generated for common abbreviations used in the sport of athletics and track and field.
Usage
[edit]This template has two possible input fields:
- The first field is for the relevant abbreviation (e.g. PB, meaning "personal best"). This field is used to automatically generate three aspects of the template:
- The abbreviation display (e.g. PB)
- The tooltip (e.g. Personal best)
- The relevant wikilink (e.g. Athletics abbreviations#Bests)
- The list of usable abbreviations are located on the Athletics abbreviations page. The last update to the code was completed on 18 December 2013.
- The second field is used to refine the wikilink for the abbreviation. These allow location- or championship-specific linking for record lists: championship record, area record, games record or national record list
