Please trim your statement at arbitration case requests
Hi, ArbComSize. I'm an arbitration clerk, which means I help manage and administer the arbitration process (on behalf of the committee). Thank you for making a statement in an arbitration request at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case. However, we ask all participants and commentators to limit the size of their initial statements to 500 words. Your statement significantly exceeds this limit. Please reduce the length of your statement when you are next online. If the case is accepted, you will have the opportunity to present more evidence; in any event, concise, factual statements are much more likely to be understood and to influence the decisions of the arbitrators.
Requests for extensions of the word limit may be made either in your statement or by email to the clerks email list.
For the Arbitration Committee,
Use this in a new section, with a section header similar to Please trim your statement at arbitration case requests
.
{{subst:ArbComSize}} ~~~~
There is one optional parameter: |1=Case request name
. For instance, in relation to an overly lengthy statement in Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case#Complaint about Wikipedia icon, you would use:
{{subst:ArbComSize|Complaint about Wikipedia icon}} ~~~~
This parameter includes a link to the specific request section on WP:A/R/C, rather than just linking to the request page itself. Alternatively, you could use the heading name of the user's actual statement, to refine the link further still.
You need to include a space and four tildes after the template. No signature is included by the template.
