Tarukaisen

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tarukaisen (Japanese: 樽廻船) were cargo vessels designed primarily for transporting sake in barrels, although they sometimes carried other goods. They traveled from Osaka to Edo. They were driven by a single sail and featured strengthened hulls to support the barrels they carried.[1][2]
