Polish not German
[edit]His Parents are polish Jews ... after the war they stayed in Germany, where Zygmunt (polish Given name) was born. [1] --78.54.139.98 (talk) 08:54, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
"Ethnicity" Jewish
[edit]Judaism is NOT an ethnicity, but a religion. Jews from Ethiopia are Africans, Jews from Switzerland are Euopeans, they have the same religion but WAY different ethnicities! There's also Jews in Ireland, who share the very same (Irish/celtic) ethnicity with their chritian countrymen. Nobody would ever speak of "christian/muslim ethnicity". Since Wilf's parents were Polish, his ethnicity is Polish/Slavian. --94.216.40.119 (talk) 23:43, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
- from the wiki entry on Jews: "The Jews (Hebrew: יְהוּדִים ISO 259-3 Yehudim, Israeli pronunciation [jehuˈdim]), also known as the Jewish people, are an ethnoreligious group originating from the Historical Israelites of the Ancient Near East" Judaism is the religion. A Slovene or a Pole does not have the same ethnic origin as a Jew from Poland or Slovenia. Woody Allen is a Jew despite being an atheist; Albert Einstein remains a Jew despite being irreligious.Patapsco913 (talk) 04:10, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
