Section removal
[edit]I removed this poorly written and blatantly unreferenced section added by User:Jelectrico on Jan 28, 2009:
"The word Zvartnots translates a "place of Joy" It may be a location where Armenian Nobles had feasts. The ruins of palace or magnificent structures show roman architecture ( rich detailed columns, ect). It is believed, that Zvartnots was destroyed by devastating earthquake. In early 70s some of details of the Zvartnots was exposed near the Road to Echmiatzin and turn to Parakar ( Stone of Glory) airport. During communist era this monument among with other ancient sites was left abandoned as they did not provide any benefit to USSR. However, it is noteworthy to establish its location. While in the region, one can feel the gravity of moment seeing the mountains of Ararat (Masis) just 10 miles from Zvartnots. The historical theories just start to materialize. Echmiatzine, Garni,Geghart, Ani, Sevan, Haghartzin, Haghpat, just a few names from a large list of early christian history. While the history of the region does not start there. Monuments like Arin Berd (Erebuni) take us to Urartian era with almost 3000 years old pre- christian epoch documented in writing on stones of fortress. The intense activity in region dates from Indo-European Culture (Chaldes) to present day."
I suggest that it should be "peer-reviewed" first, and if it contains verifiable facts, then to be properly incorporated in the article. By the way, how come noone has added a proper Archaeology section to it so far? --Omnipaedista (talk) 08:08, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
