Starter system
[edit]The original Zoche aero-Diesel design called for a compressed air starting system, but the article now mentions a "starter-generator". The idea was for a small on-board compressor to charge a spherical pressure vessel to provide a source of compressed air to spin a small air turbine and crank the engine. In an emergency the pressure vessel could be recharged from shop air or even a hand pump, so battery failure would never be an issue, and the aircraft could use a much smaller battery, since it wouldn't need the capacity for cranking a high-compression engine. Is this a typo, or is it a design change? — QuicksilverT @ 17:12, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
Stub
[edit]I added a category stub to this article, as there really is not a lot of information in the article about diesel radial engines. I believe it can be expanded. Also, a photo or two would be nice, at least one external photo and one photo showing the inner workings. Erzahler (talk) 02:18, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

Need third-party references
[edit]I tagged this article with {{Third-party}}. At the moment, of the 8 references: 4 are from the zoche.de website; 1 is a YouTube video posted by Georg Zoche.
The remaining 3 are slightly better: 2 are to reasonable sources (AOPA magazine source: "Horsepower of a Different Color"; and book source: World encyclopedia of aero engines); 1 (Lambert Aircraft) is to a homepage that does not obviously support the text, but may be redeemable (relevant Google `site:` search).
Honestly I wonder if this article meets notability guidelines but I'll leave that aside for now. —Micler (talk) 16:12, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
