Questionable notability?

[edit]

Zaman Khan has only started publishing research quite recently and does not appear to have done any notable research or held any significant positions. A significant portion of the article is dedicated to standard techniques and research that Zaman Khan has done in a way that more closely resembles a resume than an encyclopaedic article. @AmethystLupine the line " His work combines field research with molecular techniques, focusing on identifying under-documented fungal species in Pakistan." I think it should be changed or removed because it is not his work only. It is a shared work. What you suggest? should we deleted it? also @Lisagrace778 @Greywarren and @Maidenhair kindly give your suggestions too. Rubab.tahir239 (talk) 11:55, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The problem with the article is that there isn't even a single secondary source that establishes notability for the subject. Per Wikipedia:Notability (academics), "Having published work does not, in itself, make an academic notable, no matter how many publications there are. Notability depends on the impact the work has had on the field of study." Further, the subject doesn't meet any of the eight criteria for establishing notability for academics. @Esculenta you're right, my suggestion is that remove the portion of "Early life and education" because seems promotional material. What you say? Rubab.tahir239 (talk) 18:02, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that would be a start, but it doesn't address the underlying problem that with the existing sources available, this article shouldn't be on Wikipedia. Esculenta (talk) 18:21, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
right and i saw that user zamankhan created itself. so i think it should be requested for deletion. 182.182.132.7 (talk) 18:25, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
