Notability

[edit]

Hi Crosji, I noticed you added a notability tag[1] to this article, so I wanted to check in to understand your thoughts. From my review, it seems to meet the notability guidelines, with coverage from reliable sources. Could you let me know what specifically led to the tag? I'd be glad to make any improvements as needed. TheBirdsShedTears (talk) 14:15, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@TheBirdsShedTears Yes, that's correct. But you have been here long enough to be familiar with the notability guidelines. It could be helpful if the awards are notable; however, there's very limited information available, even on Wikipedia. While I generally prefer articles not be deleted, I believe this one could benefit from added depth. All sources are secondary and published on the occasion of his death. Perhaps you could include references to his books and other writings to strengthen it? Crosji (talk) 04:05, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Crosji:, not all sources published on his death. See this. What do you think about WP:GNG? TheBirdsShedTears (talk) 13:28, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@TheBirdsShedTears some improvement suggestions: the categories could be more cohesive. The article's short description introduces the subject as both a writer and civil engineer; however, "writer" doesn't appear substantial enough to feature prominently in the opening paragraph, which instead focuses on career milestones. Wasn’t the subject simply someone fulfilling job responsibilities, like anyone else, while publishing a few books as a hobby?
It may be best to avoid mentioning names like "Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Liaquat Ali Khan, Dr. Zakir Husain, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sir Shah Sulaiman, and Sarojini Naidu" from meetings unless there is specific, relevant context. Otherwise, the subject was merely a contemporary of theirs. Alternatively, and that would make it credible, is the subject referenced in relation to their contributions? For a meeting to have influenced involvement in "educational and social initiatives", it would need to be notably impactful, which the source does not indicate. Additional insights from @Saqib could help clarify, particularly as he recently reverted the article to draft. Crosji (talk) 05:28, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
