Kofi Annan
[edit]The source you used for that quote itself gives no source. Therefore, it should not be included in Wikipedia. --ElaragirlTalk|Count 01:22, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
To Cnota, regarding edits to this article
[edit]I'm using WP:RS , specifically the following part:
Exceptional claims require exceptional evidence Certain red flags should prompt editors to examine the sources for a given claim.
- Surprising or apparently important claims that are not widely known.
- Surprising or apparently important reports of recent events not covered by reputable news media.
- Reports of a statement by someone that seems out of character, embarrassing, controversial, or against an interest they had previously defended.
- Claims not supported or claims that are contradicted by the prevailing view in the relevant academic community. Be particularly careful when proponents say there is a conspiracy to silence them.
Exceptional claims should be supported by multiple credible and verifiable sources, especially with regard to historical events or politically-charged issues.
The website link you reference has no sources for the claim that Kofi Annan said this about Z-Ro. Furthermore, the person who wrote the article, Eb Haynes, is ... who? Finally, I can find NO other sites or sources or newspapers or interviews that back up this assertion. I did find a LOT of websites mocking this claim, however. I have removed the information, again, until you can find a clear source independant of a single, unverified comment on a website. Otherwise, I could write a review pointing out your boy recycles shit from PM Dawn (and how street is that? not!) and that he's appearantly your boy is back in jail. Again.
Ahem. --ElaragirlTalk|Count 14:20, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Screwed Head
[edit]I left him a warning for vandalism, which I consider changes to the artist's document place of birth to be. --ElaragirlTalk|Count 03:55, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Notability
[edit]Anyone sold at Wal-Mart is probably notable, to prempt any of my fellow deletionists tagging this with db-delete tags.

Z-Ro is a famous, talented rapper and should definetly not be deleted. Any rap listener who knows anything will tell you the same. Slawdogg 04:26, 23 November 2006 (UTC)Slawdogg
Clarification for sourcing
[edit]Is Z-Ro considered Down South or Dirty South? I've found a couple of sources for the article but they keep conflicting each other. --ElaragirlTalk|Count 16:40, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
well, being from houston, livin with his nigga big d i wouldn't consider any houston-based rapper as dirty south, but i wouldn't really consider z ro as down south, either. i would just consider him a original member of the SUC.
Hmm. Shit. Thank you anyway. --ElaragirlTalk|Count 00:54, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
"i wouldn't consider any houston-based rapper as dirty south" that makes no sense, Houston is a major part of the entire Southern rap group
Layout and tone
[edit]I edited and swapped some things around in the article, mostly for clarity but also so that some very simple complaints that ends up in getting musicians deleted can be met. The article still needs more sources, but that can wait as long as it's under work. If anyone disagrees with my edits (who has been editing the article already) go ahead and revert and we'll work it out here later. --ElaragirlTalk|Count 04:42, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
say if you get this for real, you got me being one-deep.ect....

TRY USING SOURCES
[edit]ESPECIALLY IN THE RECENT EVENTS SECTION DETAILING HIS INCIDENT WITH SHANE MOSLEY AND HIS REINCARCERATION (AND POTENTIAL RELEASE DATE)...
SHANE MOSLEY
[edit]I removed this section. This first appeared as an unsubstaniated rumor on allhiphop.com in early '06, and there has been no factual evidence to support this story since.

Coming up
[edit]Joseph Wayne Mcvey A.K.A Z-RO grew up in Magnolia which happens to be the worst place in Houston. His mother died when he was 6 years old. Therefore having to move in with his father who would beat him everytime he had a bad grade,So when he turned 15 he rented a hotel room with whatever money he was able to get. When he was in high school he planned to be a basketball player...but,unfortunantly he was shot in the leg,So after he was shot he became a rapper and dropped his first famous album[Look What You Did To Me]in 1998.He rapidly gained reputation in Texas.Eventually his Reign was known worldwide and it still is.His empire will never stop growing —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.188.247.27 (talk) 00:38, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Needs Content
[edit]So many z-ro fans out there, where is the content! Flying Hamster (talk) 15:17, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
References to ad
[edit]I found some mentions of Z-Ro: Houston Chronicle, The Village Voice, NYT
Somebody feel free to integrate these into the article, or I'll do it when I find some spare time.... justinfr (talk/contribs) 13:58, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Place of Birth
[edit]Sometimes IPs edit it to be Missouri City, Texas, sometimes they edit it to be Houston, Texas. In the absence of a source either way, I suggest keeping it at just Texas. Unless anybody can shed some light on this? justinfr (talk/contribs) 11:27, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
Someone should really expand this page. I mean, there's not even a picture. Z-RO is one of the most important figures in Texas hip hop. He has a ridiculous anthology, and has a massive sphere of influence. I know there's not a lot of information on the web about him, but this article could definitely be longer and more in depth with how much there is. If someone actually wants to expand this article, here's a good source: http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/Z-Ro-Biography/DB3076691D1F7F4E482573F000298C7C Seems pretty legit.
Name Capitalization
[edit]It has been repeatedly proposed that the correct name is "Z-RO" instead of "Z-Ro", according to his MySpace page and album covers. Such proposals do not meet WP:Verifiability. MySpace requires an account in order to view Z-Ro's page, and the album cover must be purchased. Furthermore, even if true and verifiable, it is entirely possible that an all-caps font was used for emphasis in both cases. For example, it is NOT true that the word "not" must always be capitalized simply because it appears that way earlier in this sentence; that word was all-caps merely for emphasis. Therefore, I am reverting appearances of "Z-RO" to "Z-Ro" in this article, at least until others can provide reliable, verifiable proof that the pseudonym must always appear in all-caps. --Art Smart Chart/Heart 11:12, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
