Nobel Prize mention
[edit]Article should make mention of the fact that Yuri Orlov was nominated for the Nobel Prize in 1978. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stanleyshilov (talk • contribs) 21:33, 15 November 2013 (UTC)
Lord of War mention?
[edit]Why the mention of Nicholas Cage? Yes, in that movie his name was Yuri Orlov, there are thousands of people by that name no doubt, should every one of them be mentioned as "Nicholas Cage played an character by the same name?"Scryer_360 05:22, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- I came to this page looking into whether the Yuri Orlov mentioned was the character from Lord of War. Would have been faster for me if it expressly mentioned this was not the same guy... — X S G 09:47, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
- One ought to be able to tell they're not the same from the first sentence, which explains that this guy is a physicist at Cornell and not a fictional movie character.--Cúchullain t/c 13:26, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
Citation
[edit]Thank you User:Psychiatrick for the much-needed expansion of the article. It certainly seems to be taking shape. However, I have noticed you put a citation after every single sentence. Is this really necessary? This makes the article very hard to read. It is generally a good idea to use sources that cover more information on the topic of the article, rather than those just mentioning it. This way, you can source more text with one citation. Also, surely not every single statement is contentious. See also WP:OVERCITE. – Nkrita (talk) 20:49, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
- Nkrita, not every single statement in the wikiarticle is contentious but can be contested and removed if not supported by a source. The content of the wikiarticle is supported by many sources because there is not a single source that contains all information to write or rewrite the whole wikiarticle. --Psychiatrick (talk) 21:22, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
