Happy to take this. I should hopefully be able to get up a review in one or two days. Omni Flames (talk) 01:09, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
Comments
[edit]- "Kanda is devoted to the Black Order and their fight against a group of enemies known as the Noah Family; however, he is cold and antisocial toward his teammates, often choosing to engage in fights with the series' protagonist, Allen Walker." This sentence is overly long in my opinion, perhaps break it into two sentences at the semicolon?
- The image in the "appearances" section should be given alt text.
- Done.
- Link Takuya Satō in the infobox.
- Can't do it. There are apparently two people with the same name. Kanda's Takuya Sato has an entire different carreer as seen here
- "Kanda refuses to die until he finds a "certain person."" The quotes here should go before the punctuation.
- Done
- Since Mugen is italicized, shouldn't Innocence be as well?
- Done
- "Hoping Kanda would die with him, Alma attacked Kanda but he was instead sliced to pieces". By whom? Kanda? If so, this should be made clearer.
- Done
- The last paragraph of the appearances section is very short. It should either be expanded with more information about the games Kanda appeared in, or merged into somewhere else.
- Done, but I'm not so sure about it.
- "She paid most attention to his hair and eyes, especially...". The comma here should probably go after "especially".
- Done.
- "It was originally much different during the series and had too many inconsistencies". Sounds clunky, and "much different" is poor grammar.
- Tried to fix it
- List of D.Gray-man characters should be linked somewhere, in a see also section maybe?
- Done.@Omni Flames:
Overall
[edit]Overall, this looks pretty good to me. No disambiguation links and the only copyright violations detected are direct quotes. An excellent article in general, just a few minor prose issues. If you're able to address my concerns, then I'd be more than happy to pass this article. I'll place it on hold for now. Omni Flames (talk) 03:24, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Tintor2: About the last paragraph that you merged. Those two don't really go well together. Perhaps a better spot to put it would be in the reception section? Omni Flames (talk) 22:58, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Omni Flames:Tintor2 (talk) 23:26, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
- Looks much better now! I'm happy to pass this article. Omni Flames (talk) 23:40, 9 July 2016 (UTC)

Little question mark
[edit]The little question mark (Japanese: 神田ユウ Hepburn: Kanda Yū?) leads to Help:Installing Japanese character sets so it belongs next to the Kanji/Kana not the Romaji. Siuenti (씨유엔티) 23:44, 13 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Siuenti:, that's something to bring up at Template:Nihongo. It is created by this page and cannot be altered here. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 23:47, 13 May 2017 (UTC)
- Actually we could subst it and fix it here. Anyway do you agree with my point? Siuenti (씨유엔티) 00:28, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
- I don't really have an opinion either way where the questipn mark goes, but I certainly believe there's no point in addressing it through a subst. If it's really such an issue, then it should be fixed at the source rather than patching it across the hundreds of articles through that. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 00:31, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
- People might be saying to themselves "what do these boxes [][][][] mean, is something else supposed to be there, help me out here Wikipedia, gimme a hint" and notice there are two blue links immediately adjacent to the boxes, and try one or both of those links to see if they throw any light on the issue. They wouldn't immediately jump to the little question mark, especially since it is not actually next to the boxes, it's next to "Kanda Yu" which they can read already without any help. Siuenti (씨유엔티) 19:54, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
- That situation would be true on literally any other page containing Japanese as it would be here. I'm genuinely, genuinely saying that issue would be best solved across ALL articles at one time by altering the template itself rather than a band-aid fix across individual articles, and I'm seriously asking if you wish to more properly address it, it will seriously be better fixed at the source of the problem. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 19:59, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
- I'm serious too, if you want a little star you fix this issue. FA's are supposed to be the best possible. Siuenti (씨유엔티) 20:10, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
- Oh wait... maybe you don't want the little star, in which case I still feel sorry for the poor schmucks looking at the little boxes. Siuenti (씨유엔티) 20:12, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
- Listen, it's genuinely an issue with the template, not this article itself. If it's an issue, wouldn't it be better to fix it across every article using a Japanese character set via this template at once? That's more sensible than going to every single individual article and substing the template over a simple fix. I opened up a discussion about it at the nihongo template. Because that's the better place to fix it. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 20:15, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
