Yoyogi park/Washington Heights

[edit]

In the 1950s this was the sight of Washington Heights. I was an extensive housing area for dependants from the U.S. forces stationed in the area. It included Despensary, Theater, Chapel, PX, Commissary, Club House with pool, and Yoyogi Elementary School (which I attended). It covered the area of the park and the Olimpic area to the South. 00:14, 2 May 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 255.255.255.255 (talk) 00:14, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The proposed Yoyogi Park Arena

[edit]

"In the bid to host the 2016 Summer Olympics, Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara announced plans to build a stadium -- with room for 100,000 -- in Yoyogi Park."

This is incorrect. The 100,000 seat main Olympic Arena would have been built on the waterfront, not in Yoyogi Park. the Proposed Yoyogi Park Arena would have been for volley ball. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Donlammers (talkcontribs) 01:57, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
