Questionable sources

[edit]

@Saqib I fully agree that questionable sources should not be used as references. I worked a bit more on the article. However, could you either list the ones you consider problematic or remove them from the text? I’ll find alternative references to replace them. Crosji (talk) 07:17, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Crosji, The current sources are fine from a WP:V perspective, so there’s no need to remove them. However, imv, none of these sources effectively establish WP:N under GNG.Saqib (talk I contribs) 15:51, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Saqib thank you for this, it's challenging. I had refrained from delving into these details but upon review, it appears that the article complies with the guidelines of WP:GNG and WP:SIGCOV by demonstrating significant coverage in both Pakistani and international media (just added more to it), thus meeting the standards of WP:RS. According to WP:BASIC, Individuals are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. Crosji, You’re missing the point. Simply having coverage doesn’t necessarily mean it meets GNG. See WP:CONTEXTMATTERS. As I mentioned here, if the coverage appears promotional or paid, it shouldn’t be counted towards GNG imv., which I believe is the case here.Saqib (talk I contribs) 14:26, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
