Consistent name misspelling(!)
[edit]For some reason this page repeatedly uses the misspelling "Jeffery" of the name "Jeffrey". Is married to Slim Goodie! AKA Kelly K. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 51.148.162.19 (talk) 08:56, 4 December 2021 (UTC)
- "Jeffery" is how you spell his name, names are unique and there isn't necessarily a correct way to spell a name. Kyvuh (talk) 21:25, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
- Eh? Firstly, no, of course names are not unique.
- The name is spelled either "Jeffrey" or "Geoffrey".
- "Jeffery" is clearly a misspelling.
- Why are we perpetuating this nonsense? 37.120.30.161 (talk) 12:27, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
- I am surprised this is a foreign concept to you, but numerous people named Jeff have their full name spelled this way, though it is not as popular. Including Young Thug, Wikipedia has seven notable people with pages who have Jeffery as their first name. dannymusiceditor oops 16:31, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
- Exactly! And names CAN be unique while others can be popularized or even common. There’s no
- wrong way to spell a name when naming a person. However their name is spelled when their was given to them (or if changed to) is how you spell the name. The same can be said for name pronunciation. For example, the name Karen. I can spell it Caren, Karran, Kairen or even Cayrun. People CAN name and spell and pronounce their children as uniquely as they want. Looking up his autograph will settle that debate.
- p.s. you really handed it to them —good job! 2601:648:8100:CCC0:5159:C4FE:F117:B081 (talk) 07:57, 11 March 2024 (UTC)

Is this sentence right?
[edit]"[His style] has been described as departing from traditional rap lyricism and sometimes unintelligible meaning." That means that traditional rap is unintelligible, while Young Thug is not. It sounds backwards. 86.182.212.7 (talk) 19:02, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
"Other rappers from the neighborhood include Waka Flocka Flame, 2 Chainz, Ludacris"
[edit]I didn't want to hastily delete this, but I think this part of the "Early Life" section should be removed. This claim is sourced from a Seattle Times article, but the article actually states that the first three rappers are from the same area of the city, not the same neighborhood. There are many famous rappers from Atlanta, and this info is hardly relevant to the Young Thug page unless there is some other connection to him. (Not to mention Waka and 2 Chainz are actually from Riverdale and College Park, respectively.)
For example, it is relevant that Young Thug grew up in the same neighborhood with Peewee Longway, who would later become a frequent collaborator. The line should be re-worked to remove the reference to Waka, 2 Chainz, and Ludacris. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DJ11 (talk • contribs) 21:48, 17 August 2018 (UTC)
Signing to Freebandz
[edit]Numbers have been altered. Can someone fact-check it? And for the record, I can't see any mention of amount of money on related link. --Prauce Vuette (talk) 08:20, 10 March 2020 (UTC)

Please replace this image of Young Thug back to the original one of him performing in Open Air Frauntfield with the brown jacket. The image file is called [File:Young Thug - Openair Frauenfeld 2019 20.jpg] I don't know why there is justification of posting a screenshot of a creative common's youtube video of Young Thug when the image quality of him performing at the Open air fraunfield is much more crisp. 24.13.28.25 (talk) 21:22, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
- Done - hako9 (talk) 05:57, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
Once again someone changed the picture from Young Thug performing in Open Air Frauntfield and now it is back to that blurry screenshot from youtube, I don't understand why they keep doing this. Can someone revert back to the original? --24.13.28.25 (talk) 23:36, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
Associated Acts section
[edit]Can someone explain why the associated acts section for Young Thug's infobox has been deleted? Any reason? --24.13.28.25 (talk) 04:54, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
- Likely related to this discussion. -- Vaulter 05:12, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
Legal Name (Jeffery Lamar Williams or Jeffery Lamar Williams II)
[edit]What should his legal name be depicted as?
While the fultoncountyga.gov Jail Records Search Results cited in his name box shows Jeffery Lamar Williams II, that seems to be the only place where it is done so. In other court documents, such as this one, it is just Jeffery Lamar Williams. Jeicex1 (talk) 20:58, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
Lead indictment
[edit]Seems like the lead should contain the indictment. per WP:BLPCRIME Young Thug certainly qualifies as a public figure, and the indictment is covered by many WP:RS ResultingConstant (talk) 20:48, 22 February 2023 (UTC)

Final Sentence, Third Paragraph of the 2014 section- specific phrasing
[edit]"A remix of the song was supposed to be on Thug's debut album with verses from Lil Wayne and Drake, but that never happened."
I feel that a better method to give this info in a more professional manner would be:
"A remix of the song was supposed to be on Thug's debut album with verses from Lil Wayne and Drake, but failed to appear." 2607:FB91:282:D74C:C8B9:2457:B4F:5DEC (talk) 22:32, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
Who is this a picture of?
[edit]The pic on this page is definitely not Young Thug. Looks nothing like him. Where are the face tattoos? 2600:1700:5240:E50:1B2D:8CAB:BCD6:438A (talk) 15:53, 21 September 2023 (UTC)

Add that "Thug" in "Young Thug" stands for "Truly Humble Under God." This information was revealed during a court preceding on Nov.29, in relation to his the racketeering charges. BigRonJuan (talk) 15:27, 4 December 2023 (UTC)

Separate article for his ongoing trial, one of immense public interest?
[edit]Due to the nature of his ongoing trial, it seems prudent to create a separate article covering all the developments of this trial, now the longest in Georgia state history, including three judges, a major instance of the use of rap lyrics by the prosecution, etc. 68.36.124.19 (talk) 06:20, 26 July 2024 (UTC)

PROPOSAL: in the “nicknames,” change “SEX” to “5EX” stylized with a number five instead of letter ‘S’. this reflects Thug’s King 5pider brand more appropriately, as “5ex” is the correct stylization used by himself and his brand 50.30.236.27 (talk) 14:04, 20 September 2024 (UTC)

Wrong on Plea Deal
[edit]It was not a Plea Deal, the media is outright wrong on that front, he pleaded a mix of guilty and no contest without a deal but cited the deal's negation during sentencing. Livindeadman (talk) 06:54, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
