I have posted a proposed change in my sandbox, that reflects the current view of the YPS on its objectives (see YPS website, Objectives). In the absence of comment, I will implement the change on 9 Jan 2014. RodLeonard (talk) 14:15, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I see no problem in making the change now - from an unsourced out of date version of the objectives to a sourced current version, looks a pretty uncontroversial move. Be WP:BOLD and change it now - the society's own website has to be a totally reliable source for its objectives. PamD16:38, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Interestingly, the version of the objectives on the Charity Commission website is "TO STIMULATE PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF THE SCIENCES, INCLUDING NATURAL, PHYSICAL, SOCIAL AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL SCIENCES, THROUGH LECTURES, GRANTS, SPONSORSHIP AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES". (Sorry for the caps, can't be bothered to retype it all). But the version there is often an old version of a charity's statement, from whenever it last submitted its objectives to the CC!
