Nearly ready

[edit]

This is nearly ready to go up as an article in mainspace, but before it goes up, I think you should reference every unreferenced statement or simply remove the statement. (You can always reinstate the statements when you have found references justifying them. MargaretRDonald (talk) 12:59, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

HI Margaret, thanks for the input. This is my first article. I have already 8 references and it is a short piece. I have referenced every piece of information but not every sentence as a group of sentences may be from the same reference. I compared it to the entry for Pintupi - it has very few references and is a much longer text. Could you clarify? Thanks SusieCharles

Hi SusieCharles, I recommend referencing every sentence. Referencing is keenly reviewed when creating a new article. LouiseRMayhew (talk) 05:49, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Louise, I have added citations where it said 'citation needed'. Can it be published now?

@SusieCharles: I think your article is sufficiently ok to be accepted. I think you should submit it and hope that it will be moved to mainspace. MargaretRDonald (talk) 03:43, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bush tomato & desert raisin

[edit]

Hi @SusieCharles:. Like all common names, there may be a problem here. The scientific name I found for bush tomato was also Solanum centrale. See "Bush tomato". I have not been able to track down "pura". Will keep trying as your source seems to imply that for this painter and her people, the two foods are different. MargaretRDonald (talk) 03:15, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@SusieCharles:. I believe the plant is in fact Solanum chippendalei, which according to Tony Bean is "pura" in Warlpiri for the sandplain form., so I have adjusted the article accordingly. MargaretRDonald (talk) 03:22, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much Margaret. Very handy that you have a particular interest in bush plants! Thank you for publishing it. I still have another bit of info to add about an exhibition Yinarupa took part in in the US but can't find the reference so i removed it. When i find it again I will add it in. cheers Susie — Preceding unsigned comment added by SusieCharles (talkcontribs) 01:45, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
