This entry is based entirely on the historical fiction written by Allan W. Eckert. It should be removed or replace with non-fiction accounts or sources.--TruthBastion (talk) 23:22, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have been away from Wiki for some time, but I see that this page is still a mess, with names and incidents lifted from Eckert's fictional work mixed in. (TruthBastion (talk) 15:43, 12 August 2014 (UTC))[reply]
The names "Taylaynee", "Molnah" and "Koonay" are among those taken from the historic fiction written by the late Allan W. Eckert. Any time they appear in a wiki page, it should be a dead giveaway that someone is using a fiction novel as a source for writing about historical events. @TruthBastion I suspect that you are correct. However, I've now come across the names Taylaynee and Koonay in multiple sources. It's entirely possible that Eckert invented those names and they've simply caught on in subsequent writings. It would be a good footnote if we could find something to prove that. I removed the sentence "At the time of the massacre, these groups were on a trading expedition to the Shawnee" from the end of the lede. 1) It is a confusing sentence; which "groups" are we talking about? 2) It had a citation needed tag on it since 2021. Canute (talk) 17:31, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
