Relevance of Y box binding protein to autism

[edit]

There is a recent report, presented at the International Meeting for Autism Research 2013 in Spain, that this Y box binding protein is one which some mother's of autistic children, and very few mothers of non-autistic children, have antibodies to.

It's thought that the antibodies have a pathological effect and are not just epiphenomena.

I forgot to get a link but it's one the Simon's Foundation Autism Research Institute web page www.sfari.org. If you go there and search the page for "maternal antibodies" you will find it.

I think it's worth mentioning on this page.
