XYZ file format (geodata/surface raster file)

[edit]

XYZ can also be a simple delimited text file with 3 columns and as many rows as there are samples. Each row contains an X coordinate, a Y coordinate and a Z value. When delimited with commas, it's an application of Comma-separated values as a data format. While the data files are large and inefficient, it's more for data interchange than storage. Example of it in use: https://gdal.org/drivers/raster/xyz.html --scruss (talk) 21:48, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
