X is conceptionally backwards in that the display side on VNC would be the display server and the cpu side is the client sending data to the server to be displayed.
That is; the remote computer for X is the client.
This is confusing when we are used to viewing the remote computer as the server.
I came to this article to remove my confusion as to whether the articles I was reading where referring the the X server as being on the local or remote computer.
I could not tell if this article has it right.
