[edit]The lady's real name was Wulfrun (Wolf-secret): Wulfruna is a Latinization. -- Picapica 22:50, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Danegeld was something else entirely - as the Wikipedia article on it indicates! This article is horribly broken. -- DrHydeous
Eynsham
[edit]I'm removing the suggestion connecting Wulfrun with
- A charter to Eynsham Monastery dated 1005 says that Wulfrun bequeathed land at Ramsey, "being at her last breath"
as PASE identifies this with a quite different person, Wulfwynn 5, who was a kinswoman of Æthelmær, Ealdorman of the South-West. According to the entry for S911 at anglo-saxons.net, the place-name Rameslege in question no longer exists, but corresponds with Brede in Sussex. Jheald (talk) 17:48, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
