Talk:World record progression 200 metres butterfly

The world record progression page for the 200 meters butterfly starts with Michael Troy's time of 2:19.0 set in July of 1959, but William Yorzyk swam a 2:19.3 when he won the first Olympic Gold medal in that event at the 1956 Olympics. He also swam a 2:16.7 on 4/14/1996. I would assume that FINA would have at least recognized the Olympic time as the World record if not the earlier time. The USA Swimming Web site lists three world records before this starting from 1954. This is a total of four world records before Michael Troy's first record. Why are these earlier records not listed on the Wikipedia page? I remember Bill Yorzyk's record still being the listed record when I swam in the 1960 US trials where four of us broke that record with Mike Troy winning in a time of 2:13.2 for the new record. Mike’s earlier records had not yet made it through the much longer process of getting ratified by FINA in the days of hand held stop watches and paper communication.
