World Painted Flood Leaked

[edit]

The new album leaked October 24, 2009 on the Internet.24.68.50.33 (talk) 22:23, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Title

[edit]

Wouldn't Blood Painted World make more sense? 80.229.169.189 (talk) 16:29, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

they treat blood as a color in the context of the title. -HaloFighter92 —Preceding unsigned comment added by HaloFighter92 (talkcontribs) 12:44, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

World Painted Blood might not even be the title. Dave said in a recent interview that there was no title yet.

About some songs...

[edit]

There seems to be a popular rumor out there about the song Snuff. Well here is a google search for "Snuff Slayer". Pretty much no results except a torrent result, which a highly doubt has any relevance. However there is another song Hate Worldwide. That has also been added a lot, but I have been able to find a source for it.

Anyway, stop adding snuff until you find some sources. KMFDM FAN (talk!) 23:13, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah... isn't that a Slipknot song? I don't think it's Slayer, never heard of it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.174.219.204 (talk) 22:06, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Try re-watching the "digital press release." Didn't they have lyric excerpts from it? I could be mistaken, though.--SlayerBloodySlayer (talk) 00:51, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'll watch that In a moment on YouTube (Ironically I have it in my subscriptions right now, Anyway, I'm not debating if the song exists or not, In fact I wouldn't be surprised If the song turns up on the official track listing. I'm just saying don't add it until we get some Reliable Sources. Who knows. Snuff could turn out to be a non-album b-side. KMFDM FAN (talk!) 01:14, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Read the Decible article. The song that has the working title Industrial is Snuff.

"The song King, Araya and Fidelman were polishing tonight has a working title of “Industrial.” “There’s a part that sounds like Ministry, which is weird for us, but it’s totally metal,” King promises. “I think it’s gonna be called ‘Murder Is My Future.’ It’s about a guy who makes snuff films. I wrote the lyrics in three hours, and that’s unheard of. Usually it takes me a couple of weeks just to come up with something that makes sense" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.2.30.26 (talk) 03:13, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KW44MDFm9q0&eurl=http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/&feature=player_embedded there dave is asked what songs he likes or so and says snuff. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.187.249.25 (talk) 07:12, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Track Times

[edit]

where the duration from Unit 731 came from? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.168.151.170 (talk) 01:37, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would love to know, (the track time has also been added to World Painted Blood without explanation) I asked the user who added the track time to provide sources, still haven't gotten a response. I'll give them a week, and if they aren't sourced by then, I'll remove them both. KMFDM FAN (talk!) 22:37, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Review

[edit]

I found one from another website. Wondering whether it's worthy enough to put on the article. http://music.msn.com/superfans/heavy-metal/blog/slayer-s-world-painted-blood-track-by-track-review/ Daeth (talk) 03:08, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Release date

[edit]

The article says the release date is September 18th, but what's written in the reference is first two weeks of October. Which one is the release date? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.159.228.222 (talk) 03:49, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

GA Review

[edit]

GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

This article is in decent shape, but it needs more work before it becomes a Good Article.

  1. Is it well written?
    A. The prose is clear and concise, and the spelling and grammar are correct:
In the lead, "The album generally was positive" ---> "The album received generally positive reviews from music critics". In the Background section, in the first mention, you might want to say who Kerry King is. Do the same with Jeff Hanneman, Dave Lombardo, and Tom Araya. In the Reception section, "Greg Moffitt from BBC said" add "the" after "from". Same section, Leonard Pierce writes for The A.V. Club so you might want to add that.
    Done
    Check.
    B. It complies with the manual of style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation:
In the lead, you have "Greg Fidelman" linked twice, you just need it linked once. Same section, and throughout the article, "Billboard 200" ---> "Billboard 200". In the Lyrics section, the second sentence, I believe you don't need that quotation mark in front of Tom Araya. Same section, "the guitars are simply further down in the mix and sometimes it becomes difficult to discern Araya's bass..." ---> "[T]he guitars are simply further down in the mix and sometimes it becomes difficult to discern Araya's bass..." In the Singles section, "The song premiered on October 29, 2008 on a Youtube stream" ---> "The song premiered on October 29, 2008, on a Youtube stream", commas after dates, if using MDY. Same section, "'Hate Worldwide' was released as a limited-edition single on October 20, 2009 through Columbia records as a compact disc" ---> "'Hate Worldwide' was released as a limited-edition single on October 20, 2009, through Columbia records as a compact disc". Same section, you have "Hot Topic" linked three times, it needs to be linked just once.
    Done
    Check.
  2. Is it verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check?
    A. It contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline:
The link titles in References 2, 4, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, and 38 are not supposed to be in all capitals, per here. You need to have a consistency with the dates, either use MDY or 2010-07-28. Refs. 6, 17, 20, 24, 28, and 31 are missing Publisher info. In Ref. 26, "Chicagotribune" ---> "Chicago Tribune". In Ref. 32, "Billboard charts" ---> "Billboard charts". The link to Ref. 32 doesn't link to anything but the home page. In addition, you need to have consistency with "Blabbermouth.net" being italicized or not being italicized.
    Done
    Check.
    B. Reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose):
    C. It contains no original research:
Is "Shock Hound" a reliable source?
ShockHound is a division of Hot Topic, Inc., as you can verify here
    Alright, just needed to know.
    D. It contains no copyright violations nor plagiarism:
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. It addresses the main aspects of the topic:
    B. It stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style):
  4. Is it neutral?
It represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each:
  5. Is it stable?
It does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute:
  6. Is it illustrated, if possible, by images?
    A. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content:
File:SlayerWORLDPAINTEDBLOOD.jpg and File:PsychopathyRed.jpg need lower resolutions.
    Done
    Check.
    B. Images are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions:
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:
If the statements above can be answered, I will pass the article. Good luck with improving this article!

Thank you to CrowzRSA for getting the stuff I left at the talk page, because I have gone off and placed the article as GA. Congrats. ;) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 15:33, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"First known female serial killer"

[edit]

And this woman was... who? 209.74.35.195 (talk) 23:45, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Locusta, as far as I know. zubrowka74 18:15, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
...so this means I should probably correct the statement. Bathory is well knows, perhaps one the most famous, but certainly not the first. zubrowka74 16:11, 16 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Locusta is probably not the first either. She was primarily active in the 50s-60s AD, but a professional poisoner called Martina was among the suspects in the assassination of Germanicus (19 AD). Dimadick (talk) 08:46, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Tuning

[edit]

It should be mentioned in the article that this is the band's first album to be played in E-flat tuning since Divine Intervention. Adam9393 (talk) 02:37, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

World Painted Blood is Slayer's tenth studio album

[edit]

If you do not count Undisputed Attitude as an album, it will add up to eleven studio albums. Also, as of January 10th, 2016, it says on SLAYER.NET, the band's official website, that Repentless is their ELEVENTH studio album which leaves Undisputed Attitude out of their studio album lineup.

1. Show No Mercy
2. Hell Awaits
3. Reign In Blood
4. South Of Heaven
5. Seasons In The Abyss
6. Divine Intervention
7. Diabolus In Musica
8. God Hates Us All
9. Christ Illusion
10. World Painted Blood
11. Repentless
